“Why do you have a typewriter, Billy? You don’t write and I know you can barely type.”
“I like the way it takes up space there on my table. Plus, as you just noticed, it is a conversation starter.”
“But you don’t really like to talk much, either. Unless you picked that up as some new hobby. Have you?”
“Matt, I am many different things to many different people. You only see a small part of me.”
“You’ve got layers, eh? Like an onion.”
“Only sweeter, my friend. Candy.”
“I don’t think I could pull off that comparison, but you run with it, man. Maybe your ex has a different take.”
“He might, but I try not to look in the rearview these days. Too much to do.”
“Yes, Billy. I agree. We’ve got a startup to build and I feel like it is going to take more than a typewriter to get us to the next level.”
“It will. I have two candidates coming in about half an hour. Earnest and eager types. You’ll help me interview them, right?”
“That’s why I’m here. To make our dreams come true.”
