Alarm

Old wall clocks chime.

Your sorrowful, distant clamor

And untoward tales

Do nothing to stop the punishment of time.

You live for the present, but seek to avoid

The anguish and fear

That creeps in your head.

The lasting consequences of a fateful choice.
