Overdrive

I’ve got no bars

But I still can blast my playlist in my car.

The streets are slick with rain

And I’m trying to slow down my racing brain.

If only there was a way

For you to see how hard it is for me each day

We wouldn’t end up in tears,

Cursing and angry, holding onto fear.

Someday soon I’ll have to leave

This chaos and dread behind me.

Maybe then you’ll realize

That I had to go to survive.
