Prey

A vulture scowling from atop a streetlight.

It’s just another perilous and long, dark night.

You drive fast to get through

The streets aflame with horror.

The city fell apart at the seams,

A victim of the mayor’s devilish schemes.

Nobody knows what to do,

Except to fight for their own at every turn.

Tomorrow will come,

Despite the terrible things we’ve all done

To make it to one more day.

This savage ruin of a city will surely be our end.
