You formed opinions early.
It impressed us,
Simple and quiet,
Heads down and eyes closed.
You rocketed to the top
At school and with friends,
Showing your family
Of introverts just how it was done.
We wondered at times
How you came from us,
But this culture, it seems,
Makes all sorts spring up.
We hope as time goes on
And leave us behind
That won’t forget where you truly belong.
