Balance

I’ve been working on my balance.

Along the narrow parapet

And amongst my many duties.

Not much to it, from what I can see.

You wake up and go on,

Tilting from one task to the next

One foot in front of the other, yes.

Not daring to ever venture a guess

At what life could be

Beyond the mundane and the expected.

Could you just run away,

Free and open to the rhythm of the day?
