I’ve been working on my balance.
Along the narrow parapet
And amongst my many duties.
Not much to it, from what I can see.
You wake up and go on,
Tilting from one task to the next
One foot in front of the other, yes.
Not daring to ever venture a guess
At what life could be
Beyond the mundane and the expected.
Could you just run away,
Free and open to the rhythm of the day?
