No More Pills

This pill will make you smile
And this one will keep you steady,
But which one makes you truly ready?
Ready to deflate the stress,
To relax and find joy
At night, when you feel utterly destroyed.
It’s all a bit of salesmanship
Meant to trade on your emotions
And your mind that’s filled with confusion.
You’ve tried this before,
This pharmaceutical wonder-
All for nothing as you’re forced back under.
Time to learn from the lessons
And ask yourself questions.
Is there possibly a better direction?
One rife with possibility
And built on your desire
To move on and fight with resilient fire.
