It’s Not You

The failures and the fears,
Multiplying over the years.
You don’t know how
You’ll ever feel whole again.

It wasn’t like you didn’t fight.
Crippling depression explains why
You suffered and struggled
In the dark, wracked with dread.

Maybe someone can relate?
You look in the mirror filled with hate
At the person you’ve become.
You can’t see a reason to go on.

But this is the moment you take
To forgive yourself, for your own sake.
Because no one else can.
It’s not you’re fault. Forgive and move on.
