History Fades

Loosen your grip.
Let it drop and fall free.
All of the heartbreak and confusion
Won’t define who you’ll be.

Float along with old friends
So open and strong.
Happy to see you
Finally ready to truly belong.

You’ve lost so much,
But now is the time
To start fresh
And see what wonders you will find.

You are due a reward,
Though no one said the world was fair.
Try to find joy in the moment,
No matter with who and no matter where.
