A dream returns.
Vague, but shimmering with familiarity.
Lingering, then gone
As the alarm blares.
Reality deflating your ethereal bubble.
The love long forgotten
Reappearing in a face you don’t know,
But you’re certain it’s him.
A scene cut short
As the day intrudes.
Labor and duty.
Routine and numbness
Rule the day as you hope for the night
And a return of the dream of lost love.
