I promised you nights to remember
And I delivered in a way
Even I couldn’t expect.
You certainly would not forget
The one who deceived so easily
And built a castle of lies.
It was compulsive, but that’s no excuse
For the years of betrayal and abuse.
You deserved more
And I, so much less.
You’ve moved on, I can tell.
But I suspect you’re not doing very well.
I could always read your face
Better than anyone else.
What it says now I shouldn’t confess.
I’ll just leave and wish you the best.
