Cities flooded by water.
Freeways submerged
And homes washed away
But all you can do is continue to pray.
Perhaps the tide will subside
And those still alive
Will figure out how to cope,
But I see a populace beyond hope.
The destruction was predictable
To a large degree
And some fled with all they could pack
To towns highly perched, never to go back.
There is no community
When panic sets in,
So cling to those nearby
As life washes away and we all wonder why.
