At a certain age, 45 or maybe 52, you realize it’s time to rein in your dreams. Scale them down to easily obtainable things such as unplanned splurges in your cart.
The receipt of the item is the realization of the dream. You hold the object and you can glance approvingly at it as you wonder when you will actually use it.
But having it is the key. Receiving it so quickly after your twinkling urge became a demand: What a feeling when you clicked to buy it! And now it’s here on the table or perched on a shelf. You’ve done it.
