Smile

I suppose I can’t be surprised or even alarmed that she was burdened by a history of rejection. I could tell my friendship meant a lot to her. Too much for someone she hardly knew, but she needed the attention. Not in a condescending way.

She needed to heal enough to be able to smile. And I do like it when she smiles at me.
