The remains
Don’t tell the truth.
They’re merely a part.
Like so much else,
Just a piece of my shriveled heart.
The light
That dips and fades
Doesn’t betray the sun.
Not like you did
When you promised you were the one.
Tears
That stutter, glisten
And fall.
I’m not supposed to give in
To such an obvious call.
I’m shattered,
It is true.
A husk of a man
Who always will wonder
If anyone else would understand.
